For many years, MEDITECH has been aware of a shortage of good technical skills in IT. One of the best ways to address this shortage is for companies to accept the responsibility of creating opportunities for young aspiring individuals to develop their skills and talents. MEDITECH has employed five young people and, with the assistance of Torque IT, is assisting them to get a formal IT qualification whilst working. We are hoping that our investment in these young students will enable them to find meaningful employment in the IT industry. The boxes are distributed to more than 1000 recipient facilities, through more than 60 satellites around South Africa and Namibia. Children of the Dawn are looking after more than 800 HIV/Aids orphans and were in desperate need of blankets and children’s clothing & shoes in good condition. The Avril Elizabeth Home is known for its progressive ideas, quality care and its dedicated and enthusiastic staff. The residents are not simply housed and fed, but are encouraged to reach their maximum potential. All residents and day care attendees are intellectually disabled many with a physical disability. Twenty-four hour monitoring and care is provided to the residents who range in age from 4 years to 72 years.
